Universal Life and Variable Life

Universal Life
    The design of a Universal Life Policy is identical to a whole life policy with the following differences:

        (a) Interest on Cash Value can increase or decrease, based on what the life company declares.

        (b) The premium is flexible. Within limits, you can set the premium as you wish. A minimum amount must
        be paid to cover the mortality charges and some of the "loads." You can even stop paying premiums, as
        long as there is sufficient cash in the policy to pay the mortality charges.

Variable Life
    Similar to Universal Life with the following difference:

        (a) The cash value is invested in investments, such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. There is NO
        guaranteed interest rate return on investment.

    We consider Variable Life to be very risky and should be avoided completely.
